a short story

When Kate and Kristen met as interns at Smithsonian Exhibits in 2014, they noticed something unusual: they could look each other straight in the eye. For two designers who had spent their lives as shorter-than-average humans, meeting someone at eye level was rare enough that they both commented on it.

After that fateful meeting, Kate and Kristen began collaborating, merging their shared vision and complementary talents. Before long, the duo became something of a legend within the Smithsonian and their design work was increasingly sought after. By 2022, their skills demanded a wider stage and Eye Level Design was born— a nod to the moment that started it all and the unique perspective they bring to every project.
